PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) technology is an advanced method for air separation, differing from traditional cryogenic techniques. It operates on the principle that different gases have specific adsorption rates when passing through vessels filled with molecular sieves (such as Zeolite Molecular Sieves) under varying pressures.
In this system, nitrogen molecules are primarily trapped by the ZMS, while oxygen or hydrogen gases are collected as the production gas. The system typically utilizes a twin-vessel structure to ensure continuous production; while one vessel adsorbs, the other depressurizes to regenerate, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal energy consumption.
The PSA generator is ideal for small to medium-scale on-site gas supply. It features a simplified process flow, fully automatic operation, and low operational noise levels. The equipment cycles between increasing pressure for adsorption and decreasing to atmospheric pressure for desorption (regeneration).
